The hope for a white Christmas is alive in basically the entire country.
At the end of the week, a large area of low pressure will move in over Sweden with a risk of snow-mixed rain and unstable weather for Christmas traffic.
But then come the freezing temperatures.
– It is difficult to give any detailed forecast based on the forecast material we have now. But it is generally cold on Christmas Eve and I would say that from southern Svealand and down over Götaland there could be snow under the condition that it snows on Friday and that it could then remain on Christmas Eve, says Emma Härenstam, meteorologist at SMHI.
Norrland already has such a deep snow cover that it does not appear to be threatened by the above-average temperatures that are now ravaging the country.
