South Korean culture and travel inspiration are at the center of attention when the Korean Culture Festival celebrates its tenth anniversary in Kungsträdgården in Stockholm on August 22. Korea Tourism Organization, KTO, is on site to inspire Swedish visitors to travel to South Korea.

In the KTO tent, visitors can get personal travel tips and pick up travel brochures. Here, everything from city life in Seoul and Korean food culture to hiking trails, nature experiences and attractions around the country is presented.

The festival is organized by the Korean Cultural Center Sweden and combines traditional and modern Korean culture. The program includes music and dance, Taekwondo demonstrations, cultural activities, Korean food and sales of Korean products.

K-pop competition new for the year

One of the big news this year is that the K-POP Nordics Festival will for the first time be part of the Korean Culture Festival. The competition is described as the largest K-pop competition in the Nordic region and the final will be decided on the festival's main stage.

The day ends with a live performance by the South Korean K-pop group ifeye. Sori-Chum, Mudo Taekwondo and the Kongl. Technology Choir are also among this year's stage acts.

The Korean Culture Festival has grown into one of the largest events in the Nordic region focusing on Korean culture. Last year, the festival attracted over 30,000 visitors. Ahead of its tenth anniversary, the festival area has been redesigned to improve visitor flow and reduce congestion.

Growing interest in South Korea

Interest in South Korea has increased in Sweden, not least through the international spread of K-pop, Korean TV series, K-beauty and the country's food culture.

For travelers, the country offers a combination of big cities, nature, food experiences and a long history. Scandinavian travelers can, for example, get to South Korea with direct flights between Copenhagen and Seoul.

The Korean Culture Festival will be held in Kungsträdgården in Stockholm on August 22nd.
