TUI is launching new direct flights to the Dominican Republic from Stockholm-Arlanda. There are a total of seven departures operated by TUIfly Nordics Dreamliner. TUI is thus the only travel operator with direct flights to the Caribbean island from Sweden.

The Dominican Republic in the Caribbean with its palm-fringed sandy beaches is a popular travel destination among Nordics. Starting on December 19, the travel operator will resume direct charter flights to Punta Cana from Stockholm. The flight time with TUI's Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which also offers Premium Class, is 10 hours. From Punta Cana, it is also possible to reach Bayahibe, Juan Dolio and Santo Domingo with a transfer. TUI currently offers package holidays with scheduled flights and flexible travel lengths to the island and will continue to do so, with flight connections to both Punta Cana and Puerto Plata.

Ahead of winter 2024/2025, TUI is also introducing two new hotels to its offering in the Dominican Republic: Hodelpa Nicolas de Ovando (5T) and HM Bavaro Beach (4T).

Caribbean rhythms and spectacular coral reefs
The Dominican Republic is known for its turquoise sea, which has an average temperature of around 26–28 °C. But for anyone visiting the island, it is inevitable to miss the catchy merengue and bachata dance music that can be heard everywhere – on the beaches, in the bars, in the shops and in the taxis. The island also has beautiful coral reefs that are perfect for those who want to go snorkeling or diving on their vacation. The capital, Santo Domingo, the oldest city in the Caribbean, is well worth a visit for its churches and palaces from the early days of the Spaniards in the New World.
