Finnlines has welcomed two new Superstar-class ships to its fleet, Finnsirius in September 2023 and Finncanopus on 16 February this year. The Superstar ships have replaced two smaller ships and offer upgraded service on the route between Finland and Sweden via Åland. One month after the maiden voyage of newcomer Finncanopus, Finnlines reports an almost fourfold increase in passenger numbers.

In recent years, Finnlines has invested EUR 500 million in a newbuilding program focusing on hybrid and green technology. The program was completed with the debut of the company's new Superstar-class cargo and passenger ships, Finnsirius in September 2023 and its sister ship Finncanopus in February this year. One month after Finncanopus was introduced on the Naantali-Långnäs-Kapellskär route, Finnlines reports an almost fourfold increase in passenger numbers compared to the same period last year.

”The new Superstar ships have been long-awaited and they are an integral part of our strategy to offer upgraded services for both freight customers and private passengers on the Sweden-Finland route,” says Antonio Raimo, Line Manager at Finnlines.

In addition to panoramic windows with stunning views of the archipelago, passengers can enjoy several different restaurants on the two sister ships, as well as a luxurious spa, gym, duty-free shop and play and game areas for children.

”We couldn't be more pleased with our customers' warm welcome of Finncanopus and Finnsirius and we are now looking forward to the summer season,” says Marco Palmu, Director of Finnlines Passenger Traffic.
