The brand new destination Zakynthos is added to the offer, and it is the first time ever that charters to the Greek island are arranged from the airport. In addition to Zakynthos, this autumn's offer also includes trips to Cyprus and Rhodes. All trips are arranged in collaboration with Enter Air.

The demand for air travel continues to be high and the Swedes' longing for sunny beaches and warm weather shows few signs of slowing down. But it is not just the heat that attracts, but the opportunity to discover new places and cultures. Detur is taking note of this and is now launching a charter trip to the brand new destination for Umeå Airport, Zakynthos, one of the Ionian islands off the west coast of Greece. Zakynthos consists of mountains covered with pine trees and on the south coast there are fine sandy beaches that offer refreshing swimming.

In addition to Zakynthos, Detur will arrange trips to Cyprus and Rhodes during the month of October in collaboration with Enter Air, whose large fleet of aircraft is stationed in Finland, enabling immediate expansion of traffic if necessary.

– It is really great that there is such a great demand for charter flights from Umeå Airport, and that Detur is now adding a completely new destination is of course extra exciting, says Bengt-Ove Lindgren, Airport Manager at Umeå Airport. Our regional airports play an important role in their regions for the opportunity to reach out to the world from their local area. Being able to offer a wide range of both charter and scheduled traffic at our airports to make it easier for people to meet is one of Swedavia's most important tasks, he says.

“We are pleased to be able to offer additional destinations from Umeå Airport, as many people prefer to travel from their regional airport,” says Mattias Hallén, Detur’s Sweden manager. “With a wide range, we offer travelers many choices with the added convenience of traveling from the local airport, which enhances the entire vacation experience,” he says.

During October 2024, a total of three charter trips with Detur will be arranged: Zakynthos (ZTH) on October 3, Cyprus (LCA) on October 19 and Rhodes (RHO) on October 27.

According to the press release.
