He has previously been CEO of Gröna Lund, where he successfully ran the amusement park for ten years. Now the goal is to take Boulebar to new heights.

Magnus Widell most recently came from the role of Chief Operating Officer and Vice President at the experience group Moment Group. He left Gröna Lund in 2022 after almost ten years where he successfully created an efficient and profitable organization, as well as a very popular visitor destination.

The appointment of Magnus as new CEO is an important step in Boulebar's future plans. Despite a generally declining economic trend, the company chooses to continue developing and expanding Boulebar.

– It's great to have Magnus on board with us. In Magnus we see an extremely experienced leader who, despite his years in the industry, is still curious and ambitious. We have a lot to do and the opportunities for us are great, and Magnus will be the perfect candidate to continue developing Sweden. He is a real asset for us, says Henrik Kruse, CEO of Boulebar Group.

– I am very happy to join the wonderful team at Boulebar. There are big ambitions and clear goals here, but deep down they are driven by the love of boules and the culture around the sport. With such passion as a foundation and a strong interest in the business, I am convinced that we will achieve our goals, says Magnus Widell, new CEO of Boulebar Sweden.

New establishment and strong 2023

Magnus Widell will take up his new role in March and will be responsible for Boulebar's operations in Sweden. Boulebar is already present in Denmark and recently opened its first bar in London through the acquisition of Jack & Boule. There are a total of 12 boulebars, the majority of which are in Sweden.

Despite increased costs and a downward economic trend, the Boulebar Group had a stable 2023 with a profit and with the launch in London and a new Boulebar in Denmark as two major highlights.

According to the press release.
