The four people accused of the high-profile runaway bill from a Malmö restaurant on Christmas Day have been re-arrested - and are suspected of more crimes.

”"They are also being held for three other crimes," says prosecutor Henrik Nordquist. The four people, two men and two women aged 31 to 43, were re-arrested on Thursday on suspicion of aggravated fraud after they left a restaurant in Malmö on Christmas Day without paying the bill of just over 82,000 kronor. In total, there were about 35 people in the group who just got up and left the restaurant in several taxis.

But the gross fraud is not the only crime the quartet is accused of.

Prosecutor Henrik Nordquist tells TT that the four people are now also in custody for three other serious fraud crimes.

On two occasions, the individuals are said to have purchased furniture for a total of more than SEK 400,000 without paying the invoice, first at a department store in Malmö and then in Mölndal. And on one occasion, they are said to have checked into a spa without paying for it.

”"All four deny the crime," says Henrik Nordquist.
