Nordic Hotels & Resorts’ northern flagship Copperhill Mountain Lodge welcomes Louise Mackegård Evensen as its new General Manager. Louise, originally from Jämtland and a former hotel manager, has been a key figure behind the success of Copperhill since the hotel opened. She will now take on the development of this first-class resort – and will continue to put the destination Åre on the map.
For more than a decade, skiers from all over the world have made a pilgrimage to the copper jewel of the mountain world: Copperhill Mountain Lodge. At the top of Förberget, the beautiful wooden building towers with 112 rooms and suites, conference facilities, world-class spa and well-attended restaurants. When a new leader is to be appointed, they didn't have to look far. Louise Mackegård Evensen has been with the hotel since it opened and now it is clear that she will be the one to take on the role of General Manager.

Louise Mackegård Evensen is a well-known Jämtland profile from Rätan and a lecturer in areas such as leadership and hospitality. She has extensive experience in the hotel and hospitality industry, with a career of leadership positions that extends to Tott Hotel Visby, among others. Louise is one of the people behind the success story of Copperhill Mountain Lodge when she helped open the hotel in 2008. After studying at Mid Sweden University, she returned to Copperhill in 2012 and has since been the resort's hotel and HR manager. Louise has also previously completed the Camp Maverick training, Nordic Hotels & Resorts' leadership program that prepares tomorrow's talents for the role of General Manager.
Copperhill Mountain Lodge has long been a favorite among both Nordic and international ski enthusiasts. With ski-in/ski-out access to the entire Åre ski system and hiking trails right outside the door, there are experiences here in all seasons of the year. Now it will be Louise’s task to ensure that the resort continues to stand firm into the future. Leading the well-known Copperhill is a big task – but with Louise’s unbeatable knowledge of both the brand and the operation of the hotel, it is set for success.
