After a ten-year absence, Värmland residents will once again be able to travel with one of Sweden's largest tour operators, Apollo. The former Greek specialist now offers trips to all corners of the world, year-round, and will be a welcome addition to Karlstad Airport's charter offering.
– We are making a conscious investment in regional airports and have had our eyes on Karlstad for some time. We are pleased to be able to offer two Greek destinations directly from Karlstad in 2025, says Martina Krantz, press officer at Apollo.
Two Greek destinations
Starting in May 2025, Värmland residents will be able to travel to the genuine Greek pearl of Karpathos followed by a high-season flight to popular Rhodes.
– It is incredibly fun to welcome one of the Nordic countries' leading charter operators here to Karlstad and it is especially fun for all of us who love Greece and want more destinations to travel to directly from home. Karpathos is a wonderful island, a bit like Greece was 40 years ago, as we islanders remember it. Rhodes is incredibly popular and the fact that they choose to put the production in the middle of the holiday season when most people can travel is really good, it is something we often receive requests for, says Åsa Jernfält, communications strategist at Karlstad Airport.
Apollo offers a variety of different types of hotels and the trips will be made with the airline BRA.
– Karpathos and Rhodes are very popular destinations with a wide variety of hotels and activities that are often in demand by our travelers says Martina Krantz, press officer at Apollo.
Karlstad-Karpathos: 22/5–19/6
Karlstad-Rhodes: 18/6–27/7
