The Swedish Consumer Agency will investigate the fatal accident at Skara Summerland where a ten-year-old boy drowned, reports P4 Skaraborg. 

In that investigation, the safety of the pools and the competence of the staff will be examined. 

– We will review the facility's preventive safety work, what risks are being managed, what monitoring procedures are in place and the competence of the staff, says Richard Staxler, investigator at the Swedish Consumer Agency. 

The Product Safety Act applies to swimming facilities and it is on this basis that the Swedish Consumer Agency is now starting a supervisory case. 

A preliminary investigation into the accident has been ongoing, with the police also asking the public to send in any films that may be available.
