Tallink Grupp has extended its charter agreement with Dutch Slaapschepen Public BV for the vessel Galaxy I, which has been chartered to the Netherlands since September 2022.
Under the new agreement, the vessel will be chartered for an additional year from October 2024, with the option of a further extension for two periods of 6 months each. Galaxy I is currently operating as a temporary accommodation for asylum seekers in Amsterdam.

Galaxy I's operations in Amsterdam have run smoothly in recent years, thanks to strong cooperation with our charter partners and representatives from local authorities. Tallink Grupp's vessel Galaxy I is chartered to the Netherlands with the vessel's technical crew on board. In addition to Galaxy I, the vessel Silja Europa is also currently chartered to the Netherlands, where it will provide accommodation for asylum seekers in Rotterdam until the end of 2024.
