The plane's two black boxes have been recovered after the serious plane crash in Washington, CNN reports, citing the US aviation safety authority NTSB.

The boxes, in the form of the voice recorder that records sounds from the cockpit and the flight recorder that records, among other things, the plane's altitude, speed and direction of travel - will now be analyzed.

The plane crash is the worst in the United States since November 2001, when an American Airlines plane crashed shortly after takeoff from JFK Airport in New York, killing all 260 people on board and five people on the ground.
