In January, just over 2.2 million travellers travelled through Swedavia's ten airports. This is a total increase of seven percent compared to the same month last year. Demand continues to strengthen for both international and domestic travel. International travel increased by five percent and domestic travel increased by 14 percent.

Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Sweden's largest airport, had a total of just over 1.6 million travellers during January. This is an increase of seven percent compared to January last year. This corresponds to 90 percent of pre-pandemic levels in 2019. International travel increased by six percent to just over 1.3 million travellers, and domestic travel increased by twelve percent to nearly 310,000 travellers.

The strong growth in domestic travel at Arlanda is primarily due to the airlines' planning of Stockholm traffic, with the majority of airlines flying domestically serving Arlanda from the turn of the year 2024/2025.

Gothenburg Landvetter Airport had a total of just over 340,000 passengers in January, which represents an increase of three percent compared to last year's January travel figures. This corresponds to 76 percent of pre-pandemic levels in 2019. International travel increased by two percent to just over 306,000 passengers, while domestic travel increased by 17 percent to just over 35,000 passengers.

Swedavia's other eight airports showed a positive development with local differences in January. Apart from Bromma Stockholm Airport, Ronneby Airport, Kiruna Airport and Visby Airport had the largest percentage increases during the month. For the second month in a row, Kiruna Airport had a passenger record for a single month. Compared to pre-pandemic levels, total traffic increased by 21 percent in January 2026.

A total of 3,600 passengers travelled via Bromma Stockholm Airport, which corresponds to two per cent of pre-pandemic levels in 2019. The significant percentage increase for Bromma should be viewed in light of the fact that the airport had almost no traffic in January 2025.
