Demand for air travel continued to strengthen via Swedavia's ten airports during May. A total of just over 3.1 million travellers flew via Swedavia's airports during the month. This is an increase of three per cent compared to May 2025. International travel increased by just over three per cent and domestic travel increased by two per cent.

All airports showed an increase in total travel, although developments varied locally. The positive trend in May continued to be driven primarily by strong demand for international travel. At the same time, international travel is affected to some extent by the current global situation, particularly related to the situation in the Middle East.

Stockholm Arlanda Airport, Sweden's largest airport, had just over 2.2 million travellers in May. This was an increase of just under two per cent compared to May 2025. International travel increased by just under three per cent to nearly 1.9 million travellers, and domestic travel decreased by two per cent to just over 370,000 travellers.

Gothenburg Landvetter Airport had just over 500,000 travellers in May. This represented an increase of almost four per cent compared to the same month last year. International travel increased by nearly six per cent to 455,000 travellers, while domestic travel decreased by ten per cent, amounting to almost 47,000 travellers.
