Göta Canal concludes this year's season with an increased number of recreational boats, more passenger boats in traffic and a broader range of activities along the canal. The range of events and experiences has attracted audiences, both on the water and on land.
This year's season has been characterized by an increase in the number of recreational boats that have chosen to visit the Göta Canal. "We see continued great interest from boat owners in using the canal as a destination for unique experiences. At the same time, passenger traffic has increased as more passenger boats have used the canal. This enables more visitors to take part in our historic waterway," says Roger Altsäter, CEO of AB Göta Kanalbolag.
Land-based activities and events
In addition to boat traffic, the range of activities on land has been broadened. With more guided tours, cycling experiences, as well as new events and cultural activities, we are strengthening Göta Canal's position as an attractive destination even for the large group who want to discover the canal without a boat.

We will continue to invest in the infrastructure and development of our offerings to meet demand and strengthen our competitiveness for the coming seasons.
