During its New Year's sale, the airline Cathay Pacific accidentally sold first and business class tickets at a 95 percent discount.
Now the unlikely miss has happened again, and once again a couple of lucky travelers get to go on a luxury trip at an economy price.
A couple of weeks ago, Cathay Pacific tweeted the good news that those who managed to snag the accidentally super discounted first class flight tickets (price reduced from around 150,000 SEK to 6,000 SEK) would be able to travel at the discounted price.
The airline used the hashtag ”lessons learned” – but they don’t seem to have learned from their mistakes at all. Recently, first class flights between Hong Kong and Portugal were sold for around SEK 13,517, which would have actually cost around SEK 143,000.
And once again Cathay Pacific stands its ground. ”We would like to welcome the few who purchased these tickets on board to enjoy our premium service,” the company said in a statement.
They also said that they are investigating the root of the problem both internally and externally right now.
But the two mega-areas in January are not the only misses from Cathay Pacific recently.
Earlier in 2018, they found themselves in a bind after accidentally leaking the personal data of 10 million travelers despite billions of dollars in investments in IT security.
