Thousands of customers are seeking compensation from the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority after travel company Detur went bankrupt. And many of them risk not getting their money back at all, reports SVT News.

3,600 applications have been received by Kammarkollegiet, "an incredible amount", the agency tells SVT. The processing time is estimated to be between four and six months.

According to SVT, several customers are critical of the travel company, which canceled several trips at short notice in 2021 and then delayed refunding within 14 days.

For travelers whose trips were canceled more than three months ago, it is too late to apply, according to Kammarkollegiet. At that time, the travel guarantee no longer applies.
