Boeing says it will send technicians to the site in Ethiopia where a new Boeing 737-8 crashed on Sunday. At the same time, China's aviation authority announced that all of the country's domestic planes of the model are being grounded until further notice.

A Boeing 737 Max 8 crashed in Ethiopia on Sunday, killing all 157 people on board. The aircraft is the same type as the Indonesian Lion Air plane that crashed in October, killing all 189 people on board.

There are still unanswered questions about the causes of the Lion Air crash, and experts say it is too early to link that crash to Sunday's in Ethiopia.

In the weeks after the Lion Air crash, Boeing's share price fell 12 percent, but it has more than recovered since then.

China's aviation authority states that it has ordered all domestic airlines to park their aircraft of the current model until further notice.

”"Two accidents have occurred with newly delivered Boeing 737-8 aircraft, and the accidents occurred during the takeoff phase, so there are some similarities between them," China's aviation authority said in a statement.

The Boeing 737 MAX 8 is an American short- and medium-haul airliner that was first delivered to a commercial airline in May 2017. It is one of the world's most technologically advanced airliners.
