Last Saturday, SAS management was able to breathe a sigh of relief when the Swedish, Danish and Norwegian pilot unions gave the green light to the pilots' new collective agreement.
But in Norway, the next negotiation is now beginning, when a new agreement will be drawn up for the company's cabin crew in the country.
”"Our focus will be on wages and raising wages, not least the basic wage, so that there is something to live on. It has been stagnant since 2012," says Martinus Røkkum, vice chairman of SAS Norway Cabin Crew Association, to the Norwegian news site E24.
Weeks 36 and 37 are set aside for negotiation, Røkkum continues.
According to Bjarte Stedje, chairman of the larger union Norwegian Cabin Crew Association, no demands have yet been made for the negotiations – but he is clear that an increase in the minimum wage will be high on the agenda.
SAS offers new employees a system with 75 percent service during the winter and 90 percent service during the summer, reports E24. The basic salary is an average of 19,500 Norwegian kronor per month, equivalent to 20,400 Swedish kronor, before tax.
