In early 2020, Air Corsica announced a new connection between Gothenburg and Bastia, but due to the pandemic, the start of service was postponed. Now Corsica's largest airline is establishing itself in the Swedish market and Gothenburg Landvetter is launching direct service to the Mediterranean's fourth largest island for eleven weeks this summer. 

The direct route between Gothenburg Landvetter Airport (GOT) and Bastia Airport (BIA) on the northeastern part of the island will operate once a week on Saturdays between June 11 and August 20. The route will be operated with an Airbus A320neo and has a flight time of approximately 2.5 hours. The majority of the seats are chartered by Swedish tour operator Langley. 

As accessibility has increased, Corsica has become an increasingly popular tourist destination from Sweden. It is not only the birthplace of Napoleon Bonaparte that attracts visitors, but also the magnificent nature, lovely beaches and French food.
