Air France and aircraft manufacturer Airbus are acquitted in the two-month trial following a plane crash in 2009.
228 people, including three Swedes, died when the passenger plane crashed into the Atlantic Ocean on its way from Rio de Janeiro to Paris on June 1, 2009.
The court notes that even if ”mistakes” were made, it cannot be ”proved” that there was a ”causal relationship” between the mistakes and the accident.
Both companies were charged with manslaughter after the crash, which is the worst in Air France's history.
The investigation into the accident was initially closed in 2019, but was reopened after prosecutors appealed the decision. Last year, a Paris court ruled that there was sufficient evidence to bring the companies to justice.
Air France and Airbus could have been fined each equivalent to just under 2.5 million Swedish kronor if they had been found guilty.
