
French-Dutch airline giant Air France-KLM reports stronger-than-expected figures for the second quarter.
Sales rose 13.7 percent to EUR 7,624 million (6,707). The outcome compares with the Bloomberg analyst consensus of 7,560.
Ebitda profit was EUR 1,328 million (931), expected 1,270, with an Ebitda margin of 17.4 percent (13.9).
Adjusted operating profit amounted to EUR 733 million (386), expected to be EUR 648.6, with an adjusted operating margin of 9.6 percent (5.8).
Profit before tax was EUR 672 million (42). Profit after tax was EUR 604 million (324).
Air France-KLM reiterates that it sees investments of 3 billion euros.
ASK is expected to be around 95 percent of the 2019 level in the third quarter and above 95 percent in the fourth quarter. From next year, ASK is expected to be back at the 2019 level.
Air France-KLM forecasts a single-digit increase in unit costs for the full year, compared to a previous forecast of stable costs. The company then expects these costs to decrease in 2024-2026.
