The Franco-Dutch airline Air France-KLM reports revenue of 4.5 billion euros in the first quarter of 2022.
That was higher than expectations of 4.3 billion euros, according to preliminary analyst estimates collected by S&P Global Market Intelligence.
Ebitda profit came in at 221 million euros, compared to expectations of 35.7 million euros.
Regarding operations after the first quarter, the second quarter was disrupted by issues related to the spread of the omicron virus variant, higher fuel prices and a period of slowed booking activity as a result of the war in Ukraine.
At the same time, there are encouraging signs, according to CEO Benjamin Smith.
”"We saw a significant increase in demand from business and premium travel. This paves the way for a successful summer season," he says in the CEO's message.
