Air Leap will start a direct flight between Stockholm Arlanda and Turku from January 24. Air Leap will operate the route with two daily return flights, lunch and evening, Monday to Friday, as well as a direct flight from Turku to Stockholm on Saturday with a return flight on Sunday.

Air Leap has previously announced that it is increasing the number of departures to Mariehamn and Turku to two daily return flights. This means that there will be a total of four departures from Turku to Stockholm, two direct and two with a stopover in Mariehamn.

– Turku has historically been an important destination to and from Stockholm. Stockholm and Turku have been without direct flights since the outbreak of the pandemic. We are therefore pleased to be able to make this investment. Together with the route via Mariehamn, many departures will now be offered that can be adapted to connecting flights in Stockholm, says Johan Giæver Marvik, Commercial Director Air Leap.

“We are pleased to be able to resume air service between the two cities. It is great to see travel increasing and connections to and from Finland gradually starting to recover,” says Petri Vuori, Vice President, Sales and Route Development, Finavia.

– It feels very positive that we can now offer Turku a direct route with several daily departures to Stockholm. The Turku area has historically had strong ties to Sweden, including a large Swedish-speaking population, and with our planned collaboration with SAS, we now have the opportunity to connect to the entire domestic and international network via Arlanda, says Jon Melkersson, CEO of Air Leap.
