The airline Air Leap has been flying between Bromma Airport in Stockholm and the destinations Malmö and Ängelholm for about a year, in recent months under the Air Skåne brand. Now the flights between the capital and Skåne are paused, Air Leap writes on its website. The last flights to and from Ängelholm will be on October 10 and the final flight to Malmö will be on October 24.
According to the airline, the reason is that "passenger numbers have not reached the level needed to serve the destinations for a long-term and sustainable business.".
Air Leap notes that it was largely the only company flying between Bromma and Skåne during the worst of the pandemic, but that there are now several operators operating the routes. However, the company is prepared to start up again ”when the people of Skåne feel ready and the market has returned.”.
The company's other lines, between Bromma and Visby, Halmstad and Oslo, will continue as before.
