All air traffic to and from Berlin is canceled on Wednesday due to a strike, VG reports, citing the news agency NTB.

The reason is that the Verdi union has called a major strike.

Only a couple of hundred employees are on strike, but their work is crucial to keeping the airport open. The airport's fire department is among those affected, writes Picture.

In total, approximately 57,000 passengers and 445 flights will be affected by the strike.
