An alliance consisting of Easyjet, Airbus and Rolls-Royce, among others, is demanding more funding from the UK so that the aviation industry can transition to and be ready for hydrogen operation by 2050. Bloomberg News writes.
The alliance, called Hydrogen in Aviation, is seeking more funding to scale up the technology and build the necessary infrastructure for hydrogen planes. The alliance also wants airports to start developing plans for hydrogen.
Hydrogen is seen as an alternative for the aviation industry to reduce emissions and the use of fossil fuels. The technology is still reportedly several years away from being implemented at airports.
