Airbus confirms that it has received an order for 100 aircraft from aircraft leasing company Avalon, whose owner is Chinese conglomerate HNA Group.
The deal is worth $11.5 billion, according to Bloomberg News, and completes a preliminary agreement from the Farnborough Air Show this summer.
The aircraft that Airbus will deliver are 75 A320neo and 25 of the slightly larger A321neo model.
The deal is an important success for Airbus, which has had difficulty concluding customer discussions since sales chief John Leahy left the company, reports Bloomberg News.
