Aviation giant Airbus has received an order from LATAM Airlines, which has ordered 17 A321neo aircraft to further expand its route offering, according to a press release.
The airline has now placed a total of 100 orders for the A320neo aircraft. The company has also confirmed that it will complement its long-haul operations with the A321XLR.
”We welcome LATAM’s strategic vision and sustainability ambitions. This order for the A321neo in the context of the restructuring is a strong sign of the value that Airbus contributes to realizing this vision and ambition. The A321XLR will enable the opening of new routes and enable LATAM to increase its international reach in the region,” said Christian Scherer, Chief Commercial Officer at Airbus International.
The A321XLR successfully completed its first test flight last month, according to the press release.
