Aviation giant Airbus has taken an order for 255 planes, which is the largest order the European aircraft manufacturer has received since the outbreak of the corona pandemic.
The order was placed by the American private equity firm Indigo Partners. No financial value was given, but it is clear that it is a multi-billion dollar order.
Indigo, founded by Bill Franke, owns shares in several airlines such as American Frontier, Hungarian Wizz Air, Mexican Volaris and Argentine and Chinese Jetsmart. Wizz Air will receive 102 planes.
The order came at the same time as the Dubai Air Show. The planes are of the A321neos and A321XLR type.
