Emergency services have been called to Arlanda. An aircraft that was supposed to fly to Berlin has been forced to abort its takeoff.

– There has been an incident. There has been a problem with an engine, says Fredrik Hermansson at the air and sea rescue center.

An aircraft has aborted takeoff at Arlanda due to an engine failure. The incident is believed to have been caused by a bird flying into the engine.

Emergency services have been called to the scene.

– They have taxied off the runway and rescue services are on site and looking into what has happened. It does not appear to be anything more serious, says Fredrik Hermansson at the air and sea rescue centre.

The plane, which according to TT is a Eurowing Airbus 320, was scheduled to fly to Berlin. But it didn't have time to take off before the fault was discovered.

“The aircraft is standing next to the runway now,” says Tobias Åkesson, commanding officer at the rescue service.

No one was reportedly injured.
