Aircraft evacuated at Arlanda Airport

An aircraft has been evacuated after an alarm was reported that smoke was coming from the cabin.

– A plane that was to take off from Arlanda towards Krakow received indications of smoke in the cabin and then returned to the gate and let the passengers off, says Carl Mossberg, press spokesperson at Swedavia.

The alarm was received by the emergency services at 10:03 a.m. 189 passengers are to be evacuated, according to Aftonbladet. 

– We are on our way to the scene but no units have arrived yet, says the command operator at the rescue service.

The police also attend the incident.

– We are there and assisting the emergency services who have decided that an aircraft on the ground should be evacuated, says Ola Österling, police spokesperson.
