Airplane forced to make emergency landing – damaged by hail

A Delta plane that took off from Milan has been forced to make an emergency landing, local Italian media reports.

The reason is that the aircraft was damaged due to severe storms and hail. 

The plane, which was en route to JFK Airport in New York, landed at an airport in Rome at around 2 p.m. on Monday. 

This is reported by the local newspaper Affaritaliani, referring to Delta. 

”"The aircraft sustained some damage during the bad weather and is being investigated by our local maintenance team," the airline wrote in a comment to the newspaper.
