British company Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV) has announced that French ecotourism company Grands Espaces is planning to acquire one of HAV’s airships, the Airlander 10, according to a recent press release. Grands Espaces intends to use the Airlander 10 to transport tourists to hard-to-reach areas around the world. The company currently specializes in cruises to destinations such as the Arctic, Antarctica, Iceland and Greenland.
The Airlander 10, which stretches approximately 90 meters in length, has an impressive capacity to accommodate up to 100 passengers and reaches a maximum speed of approximately 150 km/h. Hybrid Air Vehicles reports that Grands Espaces plans to introduce the Airlander 10 for tourist use sometime around 2028.
