Airline CEO thanks Greta Thunberg

Tim Clark, head of the airline Emirates, praises Greta Thunberg and other climate activists for their work.

”"I actually like Extinction Rebellion and Greta Thunberg because they have put the matter in proper focus. Focus on the fact that we are not doing enough, fast enough," he says in an interview with BBC.

The activists have done more to raise the issue than the industry or any government has done, he claims.

”We (in the aviation industry) are not doing ourselves any favors by releasing billions of tons of carbon into the air. This needs to be addressed.”

However, he predicts that finding an alternative to fossil aviation fuel will take time. He dismisses the option of stopping flying altogether.
