The Saudi Arabian investment fund Pif continues to make huge investments. The next step is a takeover of the state-owned airline Saudia, according to information provided to the Bloomberg news agency.

Saudi Arabia wants to attract over 150 million tourists annually to the country by 2030, and a major expansion of the aviation industry is part of the plan, as well as competing with other airlines in the Middle East such as Emirates and Qatar Airways.

The investment fund Pif has been responsible for several notorious investments in recent years, mainly in the world of sports, where, among other things, a competing golf tour to the US PGA Tour has been created.
