European airlines are pressing the EU for support during the Iran crisis. The companies want to see tax breaks and financial support, among other things. 

The European airlines' organization Airlines for Europe, A4E, is trying to get the EU to increase support for the sector, Bloomberg reports. This after the war in Iran has driven up the price of jet fuel sharply, and created fuel shortages at some airports. 

Among the measures that airlines are demanding are reduced taxes and financial support for flights that require extra fuel, which drives up the costs of a flight. 

”These are temporary measures to overcome the current situation, combined with longer-term planning to be prepared for the future,” says A4E Executive Director Ourania Georgoutsakou in a statement according to Bloomberg.
