It was dramatic for the 167 passengers on board a flight to Dubai this evening.

Shortly after the plane took off from Kathmandu in Nepal, it collided with a bird – and one of the engines caught fire.

Despite the incident, the plane, a Boeing 737-800, continued to its destination where it was able to land safely.

”"Our experienced crew followed standard procedures and continued the flight after confirming that the engine was operating normally," a spokesperson for the airline Flydubai said. Reuters.
