Airplanes will be in short supply in the US this summer, assuming demand for airline tickets continues to rise while Boeing's 737 Max 8 aircraft remains grounded.
”The potential for revenue growth is just there but impossible to capture,” Southwest Airlines pilot union spokesman Mike Trevino, a frequently consulted industry veteran, told the news agency.
Southwest Airlines, the world's leading Max 8 operator, has rescheduled routes and flights through August to work around the grounding. The plan calls for the cancellation of 160 flights out of a total of 4,200 daily flights.
