Several airports are still waiting for financial compensation after the introduction of the aviation tax, reports Sveriges Radio Ekot.
Last year, the government allocated SEK 85 million to airports where traffic has decreased, but despite promises, no money has been paid out.
According to the interest organization Sweden's Regional Airports, which represents 33 regional and municipal airports, it is unclear what is required to receive compensation.
”"There are no instructions for this allocated money, so the airports have, on their own initiative, submitted the costs they have incurred when airlines have gone bankrupt," CEO Peter Larsson tells the radio.

According to Infrastructure Minister Thomas Eneroth (S), the money has not yet been paid out because the aviation tax was recently introduced. But the payments should be made as soon as resources are available, he tells Ekot.
