Airtours, Sweden's fourth largest tour operator and the largest Swedish-owned tour operator, reported a profit in 2017.

Profit before tax amounted to SEK 30 million, which is the company's best result ever. Turnover also increased in 2017 to SEK 675 million, which is an increase of SEK 87 million compared to the previous year.

Airtours, founded in 1998, has been profitable for 18 consecutive years thanks to satisfied and returning customers.

– Pre-bookings for 2018 were record-breaking and the start of 2018, January to April, has gone according to plan. The nice May weather has of course affected the results for the month of May, but I think that is consistent for the entire travel industry. However, the good pre-bookings for the rest of the summer mean that we believe in a good result at the end of the year, says Stefan Chatzopoulos, Head of Information at Airtours.

Airtours is an independent tour operator and does not own any airlines or hotels, which creates several advantages for customers.

“We can constantly adapt our offering to traveler demand. If customers indicate that they do not wish to travel to a certain destination or hotel, we simply remove it,” says Stefan Chatzopoulos.
