Japan's largest airline, ANA, is establishing itself at Stockholm Arlanda Airport with a direct route to Tokyo Haneda, the country's largest airport and an international hub. Starting on January 31, 2025, ANA will operate the route three times a week, thereby becoming an important link connecting the Swedish capital with one of the most important markets in Asia.
ANA (All Nippon Airways), a member of Star Alliance and the largest airline for scheduled passenger services in the domestic and international markets to and from Japan, will establish itself at Stockholm Arlanda Airport with a direct route to Tokyo Haneda. Starting on January 31, 2025, ANA will operate the route three times a week. The new direct route will not only connect the Swedish capital with Japan, but ANA's extensive network of routes will also offer important connections throughout Asia and the South Pacific.
– There is great confidence in the Swedish air travel market and ANA's investment in a direct route from Stockholm Arlanda Airport to Tokyo Haneda is a clear sign of this. ANA will play an important role in connecting Sweden with Japan and other well-established markets in Asia. Japan is Sweden's second largest trading partner in Asia, with nearly 150 Swedish companies – both established companies and start-ups – operating in the country, which is the world's third largest economy. Sweden is in turn the largest Nordic export market for Japan, and around 180 Japanese companies have operations in Sweden.
The new direct route with the five-star airline ANA will be of great importance for the tourism industry and the important trade between Japan and Sweden, where exports and imports between the countries will benefit from shorter and faster delivery times.
The Stockholm Arlanda Airport – Tokyo Haneda route will start on January 31, 2025 and will operate three times a week, on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Ticket sales will start on July 22, 2024.
