An initiative designed to ensure seamless business travel for all. Amadeus has joined the GBTA Foundation as a new corporate partner, directly contributing to its industry-wide People and Planet programmes. On the Planet side, Amadeus joined the GBTA Sustainability Initiative as a Silver partner to accelerate climate action within business travel. On the People side, Amadeus becomes the first founding ally of the GBTA Accessibility Initiative, which aims to ensure seamless business travel for all.

GBTA Foundation is the non-profit, purpose-driven arm of the Global Business Travel Association (GBTA), the leading industry association for business travel and meetings. The Foundation partners with industry partners, governments, experts, and other like-minded non-profits to drive positive change.

Delphine Millot, Managing Director, GBTA Foundation, says: ”GBTA Foundation is working to create a stable future for individuals and teams that connect the world through business travel, and it is a pleasure to extend our collaboration with Amadeus. Partnering with organisations at the centre of the travel ecosystem will accelerate our mission to transform business travel into a powerful force for a sustainable and accessible future..”

Addressing travellers with accessibility challenges has been identified as a key priority for the business travel industry. Amadeus strives to be a catalyst for accessible travel across the industry by offering technology designed to be accessible to all, from travellers to industry professionals with disabilities or specific needs, and by promoting accessible travel in collaboration with other industry stakeholders. The ability to share insights based on best practices through the partnership with GBTA Foundation reflects this ambition.

In its first phase, the GBTA Foundation's Accessible Travel for All initiative is driven by three interconnected workstreams aimed at making business travel more inclusive and equitable. These include creating educational resources to raise awareness, promoting industry collaboration to share best practices, and ensuring global engagement through regionally relevant, multilingual resources.

Emmanuelle Casado, Sustainability Solutions, Senior Manager, Amadeus:
This decision is an example of Amadeus' commitment to supporting accessibility and reduced carbon emissions within business travel. Our position in the travel ecosystem has enabled us to contribute to the GBTA Foundation's Accessibility Toolkit, which is designed to help travel managers make business travel smoother for everyone, while our long-term The ambition is to ensure accessibility through design in all our solutions.”

As part of the Planet initiative, Amadeus is contributing its expertise in a number of working groups, primarily focused on helping organisations integrate methods that reduce emissions from business travel. Amadeus also helps its partners identify and select suppliers who are working with sustainability issues, while also guiding the launch of a new forum for knowledge exchange on Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) led by GBTA.
