For almost 8 years, Amit Tewolde has been part of the organization at Park Inn by Radisson in Uppsala.

Now she succeeds her mentor Ann-Sophie Myrefelt and becomes the hotel's new director at the young age of 32. The fact that it was Amit is no coincidence, Winn Hotel Group saw her talent early on and has supported her journey from breakfast hostess to hotel director.

Amit, who was born and raised in Uppsala, began her career in the service industry at the age of 18. The ambition to constantly improve businesses and herself, learn new things and do things that are a little scary has been the guiding star that has driven her forward.

-I have always had a passion for improving and streamlining, that is what triggers my creativity and thinking. My great passion lies in leadership, in getting employees to realize their part in the whole. Here I have a lot of benefit from my experience from various positions at the hotel, says Amit Tewolde, hotel director.

The cozy and small-scale nature of the hotel is not just something guests notice, it's part of how the employees live. A culture you can absorb.

-My attitude has always been that the success of the hotel lies in our employees. I am keen to take into account that we are individuals with different circumstances, driving forces and goals. By being different, we can also respond differently and that is a superpower that we should take advantage of. My vision for Park Inn by Radisson is to run a place, together with my fantastic team, where you can be you, whether you are an employee or a guest. A place where you always feel welcome and always want to come back to, says Amit.

Amit continues: -It feels incredibly exciting to be entrusted to take over from Ann-Sophie, there are big shoes to fill in terms of both experience and commitment.

-For almost 8 years I have been responsible for 2 units, both of which individually require and deserve full attention. We believe in Uppsala as a market and we are currently in an exciting stage where we plan to renovate the hotel. This requires 100% focus and commitment. Therefore, it feels natural and fantastically fun to be able to highlight and develop such a professional and competent colleague as Amit, which also realizes my goal of developing and promoting talented employees. I therefore hand over the leadership of Park Inn to Amit with warm hands. Of course, we will continue our close cooperation between the hotels, says Ann-Sophie Myrefelt.

-It feels fantastic to promote a committed employee like Amit in true Winn spirit, as she has developed in our organization. In Ann-Sophie, she has had a strong mentor who has guided her for several years, and since Winn's philosophy is to allow employees to grow through present leadership, it is natural that she now takes the step to become a director. We now have two competent directors in Uppsala who together can continue to develop the hotels and Uppsala as a destination, says Sam Holmberg, Chief Operating Officer.
