At the beginning of March, Anna Hellgren took office as the CEO of Höga Kusten Turism. Together with approximately 125 member companies, she will work to strengthen the Höga Kusten brand and work to raise the destination to another level.

– I love the High Coast and it is a dream job to work together with the companies and everyone who lives in the area to give even more people the chance to discover this fantastic part of Sweden and the world.

Anna Hellgren has a background as a journalist, project manager and business developer. She was born in Sollefteå and has had a summer cottage in the High Coast for many years, which has given her both love and knowledge of the area. She has worked for many years at SVT in Umeå, with many different programs and news, which means she has a strong interest in society.

– I see that everything is connected, the tourism industry strengthens the municipalities and makes it possible to both stay and move into the area. It feels very exciting and challenging to work to implement the High Coast's joint strategy towards 2030 and it feels good that there are four municipalities and the entire region that stand behind the common goal, says Anna.

Besides the obvious fact that it is nature that attracts visitors to the area, Anna sees great potential in letting culture and history become one of the things that makes a visit to the High Coast a memory for a lifetime.

From the perspective of Höga Kusten Destination Development, the recruitment and Anna's competence, background and large network of contacts are viewed positively.

– Collaboration between the municipal company Höga Kusten Destination Development and the privately owned Höga Kusten Turism is very important and one of our success factors. Together we will continue to strengthen the offer and attractiveness of the area. Last summer was a record summer and it looks like we are on the way to something similar this year, but we are also working to make visitors long for and experience the Höga Kusten all year round, explains Mia Karlsson, CEO of Höga Kusten Destination Development.

The member companies of Höga Kusten Turism are very satisfied with the recruitment of Anna Hellgren.

– Anna's commitment and drive towards the High Coast feels very positive, and since our current operations manager Mikael Englund will remain part-time, we will be able to continue working forward without losing momentum in the changeover, says Torbjörn Ullsten, CEO of Mjälloms Tunnbröd and chairman of Höga Kusten Turism.

– Together we continue to work to strengthen the companies, develop cooperation, service and offerings in the area. There is a lot to do because we have set the bar high for the coming years, and now we will work to concretize the goals bit by bit, concludes Torbjörn.
