Anna Nergårdh has been elected as the new chairwoman of the Swedish Outdoor Promotion Association's national board. Anna takes over from Erik Lundvik, who is stepping down after 12 years in the position. The election took place at the Swedish Outdoor Promotion Association's national meeting in Jönköping on May 26, and Anna has been elected for a term of office of three years.
– This is a real dream assignment. The Swedish Outdoor Promotion Association has taken people out into nature for 130 years, and created movement, community and joy of life for so many, while at the same time contributing to increased public health. I am so impressed by the deep knowledge and great commitment of our 8,700 leaders, and I am so honored and proud to take over the baton to lead the Swedish Outdoor Promotion Association's National Board, says Anna Nergårdh.
Anna Nergårdh is a specialist physician and a PhD researcher. For the past 20 years, Anna has worked with governance and management in healthcare, including as deputy county council director in Stockholm. She has been a member of the National Board of the Swedish Outdoor Promotion Association since 2022. On behalf of the government, she has also led an extensive investigation into the development of healthcare, with a focus on preventive measures and public health. Anna has extensive experience in board assignments in healthcare and associations.
– The activities of the Outdoor Promotion contribute to solving many societal challenges such as increased sedentary lifestyle, mental illness and loneliness, but outdoor activities are an underutilized resource in relation to the large contribution to society. With more resources to train leaders, the Outdoor Promotion could offer more adventures in nature, and set many more people in motion. We can also contribute to more outdoor activities in schools, healthcare and social care. Here I hope to be able to help create awareness about the great social benefit of outdoor activities, says Anna Nergårdh.
At the Swedish Outdoor Promotion Association's National Assembly in Jönköping on May 25-26, new members were also elected to the board.
My Olsson (filling choice)
Therese Bohlin (filling election)
Erik Lundvik (new election)
Anders Gerward (re-election)
Other members of the board remain in their unchanged mandates:
