Now we are taking the next step towards becoming the best tour operator in the Nordic region and are starting a strategic agency collaboration with NORD DDB.

Apollo's positive development is the result of a long-term effort to offer more and different types of experiences. In addition to the classic sun and beach trips, they are investing heavily in training trips, cruises and city trips.

–We invest heavily in finding new, exciting destinations that suit Nordic travelers, but also in developing and improving existing hotels and destinations. Today, there is a great demand for what we call active package holidays from travelers who want to experience culture, hike and exercise in addition to sunbathing and swimming, says Erika Butterworth, Nordic Marketing Manager and Business Development Manager at Apollo.

Apollo is of course best known for its dominant range of trips to the summer favorite Greece, where it constantly continues to present new and hot destinations. In addition to more sports and fitness hotels, this year the destination Zagoria is being launched - a historic area in the Greek mountains, excellent for hiking, cycling and nature experiences.

The success is also reflected in Apollo's strong position in several other popular travel destinations, such as Croatia, the United Arab Emirates and newcomer Albania.

“Albania is truly fascinating. The country has a fascinating history and is developing very rapidly. Tourism is contributing to positive growth and it is a fantastic destination with its long, wide beaches and dramatic mountain landscapes,” says Nina Hornewall, commercial director at Apollo.

An important reason why Apollo is so strong is its proximity to its customers. It takes great pride in being a Nordic player with local offices that communicate with each market.

–For us, it is important that our partner understands the Nordic market and the differences and similarities between the countries, where NORD DDB is very strong. Just like us, they have an organization where cooperation between the Nordic countries is central. In NORD, we have found a long-term strategic partner who we feel has good insight into both our market and our channels. Our collaboration should be visible and felt throughout the entire customer journey, continues Erika Butterworth.

At NORD DDB, we are very pleased with the choice that Apollo has made:

–We are incredibly excited to collaborate with Apollo and enter a time where a lot is happening in the entire travel industry. 2018 will be an exciting year in Apollo's history, they have a lot going on and our task is to ensure that the outside world notices the difference, says Andreas Dahlqvist, Chief Creative Officer at NORD DDB.
