The German airline Sundair is establishing itself for the first time in the Swedish market with a direct route from Stockholm Arlanda Airport to the Lebanese capital Beirut.

The direct route started on December 11 and Sundair will operate the Stockholm Arlanda (ARN) – Beirut (BEY) route once a week with the A320 aircraft.

The airline is currently the only one operating the route.

The Stockholm region has a large proportion of residents with roots in the Middle East. The route between Stockholm Arlanda and Beirut was a successful route before the pandemic broke out but has since been idle until now. Sundair has extensive experience flying to Beirut, which is a destination the airline already serves from Berlin and Düsseldorf. Stockholm, with its large Lebanese and also Syrian population, was the next logical step for Sundair to expand into, according to a press release.
