Arlanda has the highest parking fees of all airports in the EU, according to a comparison. More expensive than major airports such as Heathrow in London and Paris Charles de Gaulle.
Parking your car for an hour at the so-called Pick Up & Drop Off parking lots at Arlanda costs 100 kronor. This gives the airport outside Stockholm first place when the website Traveldailynew.com lists the costs of parking at the largest airports in the EU member states.
The site has converted the parking prices to euros, and Arlanda's hourly rate ends up at 9.28 euros.
At London's Heathrow Airport, the price for the same parking is €8.69. Third on the list is Paris Charles de Gaulle with an even €8.
At Copenhagen Airport you can get away with 6.69 euros and in Helsinki it costs only 6 euros.
The cheapest parking is at Henri Coanda Airport in Romania, where it costs 1.26 euros per hour. In neighboring Bulgaria, it costs 1.53 euros to park at Sofia Airport.
But the fact is that if Norway had been part of the EU, first place would have gone to Oslo Airport, also called Gardermoen. There, it costs just over 10 euros to park for an hour.
