SAS is expanding at Stockholm Arlanda Airport and strengthening accessibility through a new direct route to Agadir in Morocco. The route is previously unserved and will be flown once a week, on Saturdays, starting November 4 this year.

For the first time since spring 2019, it will now be possible to fly regularly with SAS directly from Arlanda to the coastal city of Agadir, located near the foot of the Atlas Mountains in southern Morocco, which with its long white sandy beaches and pleasant winter climate is a popular destination among Europeans. The route is a very welcome addition to Arlanda's existing route offering and strengthens Nordics' accessibility to the African continent.

The first departure is scheduled for November 4 this year and the route will be operated once a week, on Saturdays, throughout the winter season until the end of March 2024 with the fuel-efficient Airbus A320neo with space for up to 180 passengers..

"We see great potential for scheduled flights to Agadir. Demand is increasing from both holidaymakers and travelers flying to visit friends and family. In other words, SAS's investment in Agadir is a welcome addition that strengthens the airport's offering and accessibility to the region," says Charlotte Ljunggren, Director of Market and Commercial Development at Swedavia.

”It’s great that our customers are ready to discover the world again. It’s therefore very gratifying to be able to offer completely new destinations this coming winter. One of these is Agadir, a beautiful city on Morocco’s southern Atlantic coast. It also means that we will be flying to Africa again, for the first time in decades,” says Erik Westman, EVP & CCO, Network and Revenue Management, SAS.

Throughout the winter season, starting November 4 this year, SAS offers direct service between Stockholm Arlanda Airport (ARN) and Agadir Al Massira Airport. (AGA).
